  1. Regarding the success/failure article it seemed like the author was equating success with growth and failure with decline. It seems like from God’s perspective growth could be either success or failure and decline can also be either success or failure. If you create a ‘feel good’, consumer oriented church environment that is void of the gospel, you may grow as church, but I think God would see that as failure. Conversely, if leadership changed in one of those churches and they started preaching the gospel and moved away from consumerism, the church would most likely decline, and I think from God’s perspective it would be successful.
