This is interesting. The story about the woman burned by McDonald’s Coffee isn’t as cut and dry as you might think:

An Idiot’s Guide to Week 9 #NFL Predictions

Last week I posted a stellar 10-3 record.  I didn’t get the upset of the week, however, as the lowly Vikings couldn’t stop the Pack Attack. I didn’t get this posted before Thursday Night’s game so you’ll just have to believe me that I had the Dolphins winning in OT on a safety. Let’s see how I do this week:

Miami over Cincinnati
Buffalo over Kansas City (upset of the week)
Atlanta over Carolina
Dallas over Minnesota
New Orleans over NY Jets
Tennessee over St. Louis
Washington over San Diego
Philadelphia over Oakland
Seattle over Tampa Bay
Cleveland over Baltimore (somehow)
New England over Pittsburgh
Indianapolis over Houston
Green Bay over Chicago

Fantasy Stud of the Week: Andrew Luck
Fantasy Sleeper of the Week: Thad Lewis

Luck passes for 400 and 5 Total TD’s
Thad Lewis rushes for 80, 2 scores, and a respectable 250 yards
Matt Ryan returns to form but Atlanta D secures the win
Browns win 15-12 in a battle of field goals
Tom Brady fakes an injury to explain his decline in talent
Josh McCown plays like Josh McCown and gets thumped by the Pack
Brees doesn’t come close to Ryan’s 700 yard prediction
Big week for DeMarco Murray
The Dolphins win in OT on a safety (I’ve just got a feeling…)

Numbers eight and nine are especially important to remember.

Scary Mercy

How do you continue to serve others when the woman you’ve helped to get clean and get back on her feet returns to a life of prostitution? How do you keep serving others when the young man you’ve mentored not only doesn’t want to stay clean but also doesn’t want to believe in God?

As typical, Dr. Schreiner models how to write a healthy and balanced review of a heated topic.

Haven’t seen this yet, but hear that it’s quite amazing:

Pray For Your Son: 31 Day Challenge—Day Thirty-One

Day Thirty-One: that his parents would continue to pray for him

May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus, -Romans 15:5

This is my prayer for you. I pray that you would continue to pray for your son. Furthermore, I pray that you would encourage other parents to take this challenge and pray for their sons. As you do this I pray that the God of endurance and encouragement would cause you to endure in your care for your son. I hope that you have grown in the Lord this month and that you have been encouraged. May Christ be glorified as you continue to love your son through praying for him.

Lord, thank you for all those that have prayed for their sons. I pray that they would continue. Help me to continue praying for my dear son as well. Cause us to endure in this great endeavor. May Christ be glorified through us. Transform our homes for His name. Use us as living examples of your parental care. Amen.
