Today in Blogworld 10/03

I have decided to bring back a feature from the past. It is my hope to start blogging more frequently (we’ll see how that goes). One way to do that is to provide a daily summary of some of the great posts around teh blogosphere.

Dan Edelen explains why I get nauseous every time I go to the Christian bookstore. (HT: Challies)

Did you miss the Desiring God National Conference? So did I. No fear, all of the video is now available here.

Mark Driscoll has a new online book out. He is releasing it chapter by chapter. It is called Porn-Again Christian. Chapter one has just been released.

Great article here about confronting other people.

I’ll close with a sport that I absolutely have to try out:

The effect of liberalism

I was recently listening to a sermon by Joshua Harris on 1 Corinthians 1:18-25. In this particular sermon Harris quotes H. Reinhold Neibuhr when he wrote:

“A God without wrath brought men without sin into a kingdom without judgment through the ministrations of a Christ without a cross.”

You can listen to the entire sermon here. Also Justin Taylor has quoted this in the past as well–there is another great quote in that article as well.

Preaching with a Cold!

Last winter I had the opportunity to preach at a church that my friend Sam planted. I think I linked there in the past but I figured I’d actually make the Mp3 available for you to listen to in case you wanted to. I preached on The Cup of Christ. (I am highly indebted to CJ Mahaney for some of the material in the sermon). It was interesting preaching without much of a voice and with having had a fever of 101 the night before. Have a listen:
