Pray ‘For Your Son: 31 Day Challenge—Day Four

Today’s prayer comes from Mark Mincy

Day Four: That he would be kept in peace

Isaiah 26:3 – You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord God is an everlasting rock. (ESV)

Peace is perhaps the most elusive thing in the world. Everybody wants it and yet few claim to have it. We search and search, but anxiety seems to rule the day. In the Scriptures, anxiety is set as an antonym to peace. The word for anxiety literally means “to be pulled in many different directions”. Being pulled in many different directions is how many of us would define life. In such a world the only way to know peace is to seek the face of our peace-giving God through prayer and thanksgiving. Therefore, let us pray that God will give to our sons His peace.

Dear Father, I praise you that You are the Author of peace. I praise You that Jesus brought true peace to this fallen world through the shedding of His blood. In His name, I ask You to give our sons true and lasting peace. Protect them from things – even good things – that call them away from You. Give them faith that they might trust You and not their own strength or ability. Give them a desire to cast themselves upon Your mercy and know the joy of Your peace continually flooding their souls. Keep them in Your perfect peace – for Your glory and their good. Amen

  1. Father I pray that my sons will value your peace above the transient and counterfeit peace that the world has to offer, I pray that they will learn to trust in you, that they may learn and value You, above all else, help me to be an example to show them how to rely on you depend on you and not my own self or abilities. That your glory may be seen in their lifes – Amen.

  2. Prince of Peace, I pray that my sons would know peace, especially the inner peace given by the Holy Spirit in the outworking of our faith to you. I pray that they would understand the blessing of the turmoil of the fallen world that they will no doubt encounter. As so many despair to the foundering of any faith they may have had to the tide of pains and troubles, I pray that it would not be so with my sons. Give them strength so that such causes of despair rather deepens the peace they have in you.

  3. Dear father,
My heavenly father I praise you for your breath everyday, for the beauty in this dark worlds we live in. I praise you for all sinners and lost souls I meet everyday, for it gives me the opportunity to share your gospel in glorifying you.
Lord I ask that you bring peace to my 3 sons and everyone’s sons that are dead men walking. My own children are dead men walking on this dark world. Lord bring peace into their hearts, protect them from all good and evil that turns them away from the light. Let their heart and souls burn in desire of your coming. Lord let the little mustard seed you planted through our salvation be rooted upon these children so they may blossom and seek your mercy, that they by faith trust you and and accept redemption. May they one day praise you and what you have done in the cross for such wicked being as us. Keep then under you’re wings in peace, to Glorify you,Amen.
This shall be done in Jesus name Amen.
